During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Phinney Neighborhood Association
Volunteers needed to help members one-on-one with their smart phones, tablets, laptops or eReaders. Questions are usually pretty basic: how to attach a photo to an email, how to set up an Instagram account, how to follow the Pope on Twitter, etc.
Flexible schedule (you pick a mutually convenient time). Background check required & 6-month commitment requested. Great for high school students looking for an ongoing position.
In these times of distancing, mentoring sessions are held virtually or on the phone. When we are able to safely gather, we expect some sessions to resume in-person meetings. Most often, in-person sessions are held at the Greenwood Senior Center, M-F between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm
If you are interested in this opportunity for service hours, this is a great direct-service, intergenerational, opportunity. We’ve found volunteers are most successful when they are able to make a longer-termed commitment (6+ months) in order to accumulate the number of required hours. To give you an idea of how many hours you might get, we generally get 8 to 10 requests for help per month, and currently have a pool of about 15 volunteers.
