Plans, initiates, and implements ongoing activities to support organizational communications plan including internal communications, public relations, marketing, fund development, and volunteer services.

Reports to Director-Marketing & Development and coordinates activities of team members as assigned.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works independently and with other teams and organization volunteers in planning and executing internal and external communications programs, volunteer services, strategic planning, and fund development initiatives.

  • Researches, interviews sources, and stays current on topics such as marketing & fund development trends, and community activities.

  • Writes, designs, and manages the production and distribution of media releases, ads, brochures, newsletters, fund development solicitations, direct mail, website updates, and other communications materials for internal and external audiences.

  • Plans, develops schedules, and implements activities for ongoing solicitation of contributions, grants, and volunteer services.

  • Plans meetings, presentations, programs, and special events and participates and represents team in these activities.

  • Participates in cross-department and organization teams as assigned.

  • Supervises team leads, other team members and volunteers to execute team activities.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Applies CQI concepts and methods throughout related activities.

Performs job responsibilities in an ethical, compliant manner consistent with the organization's values and the organizations policies, procedures and protocols.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:


1.Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, marketing, or business administration.

2.8 + years experience in media, corporate, or nonprofit setting with emphasis on writing, marketing, fundraising, strategic planning, and project management.

3.Experience with independently managing internal relationships and contact with publics including media, vendors, donors, and volunteers.

4.Experience with graphic design, photography, and website management.

5.Ability to communicate with and interact effectively with internal and external contacts.

6.Ability to manage meetings and present to internal and external audiences.


Commitment Required :

Must be willing to commit 1+ year

Meetings : 2 in person and 2 conference calls

Time : Minimum 5 hours [ excluding meeting time ]

Should have passion for serving community.

Should be reliable.
