Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) DeKalb County advocates for and serves as the voice for 100% of the abused and neglected children in DeKalb County. In an overburdened social welfare system, abused and neglected children often slip through the cracks among hundreds of current cases. Appointed by judges, CASA volunteers typically handle just one case at a time and commit to staying on that case until the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. While others may come and go, CASA advocates provide that one constant that children need in order to thrive.

About CASA DeKalb County, Inc.
407 W State St, #6, Sycamore, IL 60178, US
Our mission is to advocate for and serve as the voice for abused and neglected children.
CASA is appointed as the guardian ad litem (GAL) for abused and neglected children in juvenile court. We train volunteers to serve as advocates for these children , empowering the volunteers to make lifelong differences in the lives of these children. As the GAL, CASA advocates are responsible for gathering information regarding the child and reporting their findings to the judge in juvenile court. The advocates are the voice of the child in court, advocating for the child's best interests with the goal of finding him or her a safe, permanent home as soon as possible.
