Calvary Hospice @ Home is looking for volunteers to provide assistance to our clerical staff in the office during business hours. The Administrative Volunteer will be assisting with answering telephone calls, medical filing, research, outreach as well as various other duties and opportunities as they arise.
Volunteers training and schedule of availability are flexible and left to the volunteer to decide the days/times that fits their lifestyle the most.
As an organization that provides end of life care in the community we were on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. The office volunteers will have direct communication with these patients/families our in the community.

Our Calvary Hospice @ Home services are part of the continuum of care for the terminally ill. We provide the same standard of excellence to those patients whose illness can be managed at home regardless of the diagnosis.
Description
Patient care for Hospice takes place in the patient's home, the nursing home. assisted living facilities. If a patient is appropriate for inpatient care, we can bring them into Calvary Hospital or one of our contracted inpatient facilities. Hospice @Home provides care to patients in the Bronx, Manhattan, Queens , Brooklyn, Westchester, Nassau and Rockland counties. We provide the patient and family with visits from the nurse, social worker, spiritual counselor, and volunteer. The Hospice Volunteer Program at Calvary Hospice @ Home is dedicated to providing our patients and their families with the emotional support needed to cope with the difficult issues surrounding death and dying. Volunteers provide companionship and respite care to the patient and family in their homes or in the other hospice settings.
