Would you like an opportunity to help others and give back to your community? Have you ever thought about volunteering for Hospice? Did you know that Volunteers are the Heart and Soul of Hospice Care? Volunteers visit patients and families, providing care and support through companionship and conversation, reading, writing letters, listening to music, watching movies & TV, playing games, offering care to the pets of the patients and families, helping with light household tasks or yard work, and even sharing hobbies!
We provide a comprehensive 10 hour orientation and training, so if you don't have any experience with Hospice, don't worry - we'll give you everything you'll need to be the best Volunteer you can be! Description
A volunteer's gift of time completes the circle of care that is offered through hospice.
Hospice is designed to provide comfort care as well as spiritual and emotional support in the final phase of terminal illness. At Grace Hospice, we focus on enhancing the quality of life and our volunteers play a key role in our mission. Our hospice program strives to go beyond the physical needs of the patient. Grace Hospice ensures that our patients will spend their final days of their journey in comfort and with dignity.
Our volunteers share their time and talents in order to offer companionship to our patients, while easing the burden that may be felt by their family members during this difficult time.
