You can make a difference as a volunteer at Grace Hospice. Volunteers are the heart and soul of hospice care, providing care and support to patients and families through various activities. Such roles include reading and writing letters, listening to music, watching movies & TV, playing games, offering care to pets, helping with house hold tasks, sharing hobbies, and most importantly, providing companionship and conversation. Your gift of time as a volunteer completes the circle of care offered through hospice by ensuring that all patients spend their final days of their journey in comfort and with dignity. We provide a comprehensive 10 hour orientation and training, so there is no experience required. Don’t worry if you have never worked with hospice before--we’ll give you everything you need to be the best volunteer possible. Any time commitment, big or small, is appreciated! Did you know that Volunteers are the Heart and Soul of Hospice Care? As a Hospice Volunteer, you are an important, integral member of the team! Hospice provides care and comfort to people with terminal illnesses and provides support to their families, friends, and caregivers. As a Volunteer, you can help in many ways! If you are at least 14 years old, you can be a Youth Office Volunteer, assisting us with various Office Administrative Duties. If you are at least 18 years old, you can be a Direct Patient Volunteer. These Volunteers visit patients and families, providing care and support through companionship and conversation, reading, writing letters, listening to music, watching movies & TV, playing games, offering care to the pets of the patients and families, helping with light household tasks or yard work, and even sharing hobbies! We are also looking for Volunteers with experience as professional c osmetologist and massage therapy. We are also interested in volunteers who have Certified Pet Therapy animals. We provide a comprehensive 10 hour orientation and training, so if you don't have any experience with Hospice, don't worry - we'll give you everything you'll need to be the best Volunteer you can be! Any time commitment big or small is appreciated! We do require a background check, (2) TB tests, and drug screen.
