Urgent: Shelter Support Volunteers needed at Safe House Shelter

Did you know that in Minnesota on any given night there are over 4000 youth who do not have a safe place to sleep?

  • Safe House Shelter invites you to come hang out and engage youth to new experiences that shows them they are capable to become anything that they have ever imagined.

  • Assist staff by organizing youth activities, preparing a meal, watching movies and most of all have fun!

  • Various shift starting from 6:00pm to 11:00pm.

  • Safe House is located near the Merriam Park neighborhood.

  • To make a difference in a life of a youth who is experiencing homelessness. Be that supportive adult that a youth will see when staying at Safe House.

Interviews and orientation will be scheduled on a rolling basis at Safe House. Volunteers will learn more about Metro Homeless Youth Services and volunteering with Safe House. Opportunities to shadow Safe House staff will be made available. Volunteers must pass DHS background check prior to their first shift.

Description

LSS is the largest, statewide non-profit social service agency in Minnesota with over 2, 400 employees who serve in 300 communities. It is owned by the six Minnesota synods of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). Services are divided into four divisions:
