Want to start making a difference in someone else's life? Become a Patient Support Volunteer for the Florida Cancer Specialists Foundation. Our Volunteers brighten up a cancer patient’s day by providing non-medical support to them while they are undergoing treatment. In the infusion area, volunteers offer a snack or beverage to a patient or their guest, hand out warm blankets, share reading material, talk and listen, wipe down the infusion chairs and help to keep the area tidy.
Ideal candidates may be a retiree, cancer survivor or a caregiver of someone with cancer. We would also consider a college student with an interest in oncology, nursing or medicine. Available shifts are Tuesdays from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. or Thursdays from 12-3 p.m. Min. time commitment is 3 hours per week for at least six months.
We'll work with your schedule.
