LATM Volunteer Opportunities

LATM's School;s out Summer Leadership Camp is a unique, week-long, college readiness camp offered to at-risk middle school students from throughout Los Angeles. The Leadership Camp Facilitator position gives volunteers the opportunity to facilitate the curriculum and overall camp experience for selected middle school students.

This is a full-time, 1 week commitment, and is a great opportunity for college students who are interested in pursuing a career in the education, child development, or social work fields. The committment includes one week of training along with a week of camp facilitation. LATM staff is on hand to support all volunteers throughout their experience. Facilitators will work in pairs with a team of 15-20 middle school students, many of whom will be the first in their families to attend college. Students work with their facilitators to complete their curriculum (including financial aid, admissions, and completing A-G courses) and create a culminating project.
