MHAGC Event Planner


The MHAGC Event Planner role is for individuals who enjoy planning events and working to make them successful. In collaboration with leadership and other staff, the Event Planner identifies and prioritizes event opportunities to build community involvement and relationships as well as support organizational objectives, including development and fundraising.

**This position requires the ability to be present at that MHAGC Office in Chicago, IL**

Typical Duties

  • Creates and implements plans to promote events, which includes developing collateral materials, advertising, invitations, and signage to achieve maximum attendance and return on investment
  • Collaborates with marketing and development volunteers to achieve desired goals
  • Plans, coordinates, and implements event logistics, which includes speakers, displays, screenings, facilities, equipment, transportation and staffing
  • Delegates appropriate tasks to other volunteers, supervises event set up and clean up and evaluates the end outcome
  • Communicates with and solicits input from leadership, staff and volunteers on the planning and evaluation of events and related communications

Time Commitment

  • Commitment is dependent on specific events. MHAGC typically organizes three events per year. This position can be remote or in-person, or a combination of both.

College Credit Opportunity

  • This position can be designed for undergraduate or graduate program internship/practicum credits. The exact number of hours and responsibilities can be tailored to meet the requirements of individual programs.
