For years our elderly and disabled clients have taken pride in maintaining their homes. Now, due to physical limitations, visual impairments, and/or medical conditions, they can't keep up with all the chores related to maintaining their homes. Volunteers are matched with a client to help with cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, dusting, laundry, de-cluttering and/or organizing. Many matches combine visiting with the client while doing their tasks. This type of assistance, a couple of hours per week or every other week, allows our elderly or disabled clients to maintain their independence in their home. Our clients live in the following 7 towns: Derry, Londonderry, Windham, Hampstead, Danville, Sandown, and Chester, NH.

Description
Community Caregivers of Greater Derry has been in existence for the past 33 years. The organization has focused on the needs of the elderly and disabled in our community. The intent of the program is to help those who have difficulty maintaining independence and quality of life because they are elderly, temporarily or permanently disabled, recuperating from illness or dealing with chronic illness. Services such as friendly visiting, grocery shopping, light chores and medical transport are offered through an incredible network or caring and committed volunteers. We serve the towns of Chester, Danville, Derry, Hampstead, Londonderry, Sandown and Windham. We also run a "Loaner's Closet" of used, durable medical equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, canes, shower chairs, and commodes available to anyone in the community FREE for as long as needed.
