Volunteers at a previous BOSS workday at one of our Hayward facilities. Making a difference, making friends, getting exercise!

We are looking for volunteers for an afternoon of cleaning up, weeding, raking, and planting at our Hayward emergency shelter!

Established in 1971, BOSS is a nonprofit organization that housing and support services to homeless, disabled, formerly incarcerated, and low income community members across Alameda County. The organization opened its first programs in Hayward in 1989.

The South County Homeless Project (SCHP) provides shelter, counseling, meals, and life-saving assistance to mentally ill homeless adults in Hayward. There is a backyard garden that is in need of TLC to prepare for spring growing!

If you can bring your own gardening tools, that would be great - we have some, but possibly not enough for everyone. Dress in clothes you don't mind getting dirty! :)
