Global Children is a nonprofit organization that is based in NYC and works in Phnom Penh, Cambodia with orphans and vulnerable children through a Professional Development and Higher Education Program.

We are looking for an intern who can help us with grant development and writing and newsletter/promotional updates. If you have a knack for writing and want to have great impact in the world please reach out to us. We could use your skills.

we would specifically like to target philanthropic divisions of corporations and their gift giving.

Mission Statement

Global Children is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the welfare of children and young adults living in underserved communities and orphanages in Cambodia. We are working to improve the quality of life for these individuals by providing educational opportunities, training in the arts and implementation of health initiatives.

Description

Vision: Educating Cambodia’s next generation

Founded: September 2000

Current Program: Higher Education and Professional Development: Launch a Life (started in 2002)

Past Programs: Orphanage~Performing Arts Program, Orphanage~Visual Arts Program, Orphanage~Photography Program, Latrine cleaning & Hygiene Education, Bassac Environmental and Hygiene Project, Haircutting (these programs ran between 2000 - 2011 and worked with more then 200 children)

"Launch a Life" provides an opportunity for exceptional orphaned and vulnerable children to become self-sufficient, educated leaders and young adults in Cambodia by helping them attend university. Global Children (GC) believes in supporting young adults to not only participate in the rapid growth of their country, but to flourish as leaders in their communities. With a college education they become active professionals, build strong personal relationships and families and pass this positive influence on to the next generation.
