About

"I loved building a 1:1 relationship with my mentee. There’s a lot of satisfaction in developing a trusting, effective relationship over the course of a year." - PPL Tutor-Mentor

Support a young person’s academic and social success by becoming a Tutor-Mentor with PPL’s after-school youth programs! PPL’s youth programs match adult Tutor-Mentors 1:1 with PPL resident youth in grades K-8th. Pairs focus their time on structured literacy tutoring as well as enrichment activities such as games, crafts, and relationship-building.

"The relationships we built were just as fulfilling, if not better, than the tutoring we did." - PPL Tutor-Mentor

Where? Project for Pride in Living (PPL) is a nonprofit dedicated to empowering low-income families to become self-reliant through integrated services. Youth program takes place at New Foundations apartment building, one of PPL’s supportive housing sites which serves families transitioning from chronic homelessness.

When? Tuesdays & Thursdays, 4:30-6:30pm

Training begins last week in September. School-year long commitment (Oct-mid May) required.
