The Safety of Seniors Handyman Program is in need of volunteers for the Snow Buddies program. This program seeks to provide snow shoveling services for seniors 60 and better throughout the winter season. This is a huge need for many seniors, not only to maintain their health and safety, but also to avoid ticketing and fines by the city. We are in desperate need of volunteers to assist us in providing this service. We currently have seniors requesting services across Adams, Arapahoe, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson counties. In matching a volunteer with a senior buddy, we look for pairs that live within 2 miles of each other. If a snow buddy match is found, the volunteer would be required to shovel for the senior when it snows 2+ inches within a 24 hour period. Sidewalks and walkways are the main areas of concern.
