As a United Hospital Volunteer you will make a difference in your community. Whether you are greeting patients and visitors to the hospital, interacting with patients in the Emergency Department, or assisting in the Gift Shop, you leave a lasting impression on the hospital.

Now more than ever, United Hospital needs the support of volunteers. Volunteers can lighten the load from staff and take on non-patient care related tasks. This in turn allows staff to focus on whole-person care.

This is a great opportunity for former healthcare workers, who miss the hustle and bustle of hospitals and patient interaction. Are you a student, interested in going into the healthcare field? Volunteering at United Hospital is a great way to get experience and learn more about the field.

Most of our positions require little to no experience and we provide on the job training for every position. We work to find a position that works for you and the hospital, considering experience, interests, and accommodations, to the best of our ability.

General requirements:

• Complete online orientation and post quiz
• Clean background check (18 and over)
• Health immunization test
• Annual flu shot (exemptions made on a case by case situation)
• One three hour shift a week and commit to at least 60 hours

3. Complete Health Clearance form and screening
4. Background check (18 and over)
5. Onboarding shift
   • All volunteers attend two hour onboarding shift prior to starting position and will receive on the job training for position
