Your Loving Orange County Home!Huntington Beach, CA 92648

The rescue work we do is directly linked to how many foster homes that we have. Right now we are desperately seeking foster homes for several very SHY AND TIMID but SWEET adult cats. We also have several SENIOR cats over the age of 9 years old who need fostering. This consists of caring for and socializing these rescued cats in your home until they find their forever home.

For example, we currently have three FIV positive cats that need to be fostered in a home (not together). FIV is easily manageable and does not require medication nor require that the infected cat be kept separate from negative kitties. Our beautiful FIV positive cats are BAGHEERA, a very people and cat friendly FIV positive boy who was saved from euthanasia at the last minute at Downey Animal Shelter; SELAH, a gorgeous sweet Russian Blue who loves to be petted; and EDGAR, a senior AND a FIV positive boy who is in true need of a quiet loving home with lots of attention. Speaking of seniors, we have a super sweet duo named FENWAY and FARINA, 13-year-old siblings who lost their human and would love to be fostered and loved together. There is also FOOTSY, a seven-year-old SHY boy who is currently being fostered and coming out of his shell, but needs a new foster soon. He actually sings! Another worthy senior is MELISSA, a quiet nine-year-old orange tabby stray who was also rescued from Downey and needs monitoring for kidney disease (again, no meds required). PORTIA, an adorable calico kittie who went from sick and malnourished and losing all but one kitten from her litter of five, to gaining a lot of weight out of boredom. She needs a foster that will play and play with her! GREY LADY is only 2 years old and we adopted her as a kitten, only to have her returned as a very scared, very confused adult who was abandoned by the family that was supposed to keep her forever. And then finally, we have SPANKY, an adorable boy of an unknown age who was abandoned by his humans and left to be the neighborhood cat of an apartment complex! We would also love to help a gentleman who has been boarding his three adult senior cats so that we can re-home them.

If you can help us help them, please email us at ocsp.adoptions@gmail.com and put the name of the cat you want to help in the subject line. Bagheera, Fenway and Farina, and Edgar would do just fine in a home with other cats. Grey Lady, Footsy and Melissa need quiet homes (no small children, no alpha kitties) and Portia would do well in a home with another younger cat who wants to play with her and help her get some proper exercise!

We will guide you through the basics if you have never fostered before and even if you have we will always be available to answer questions and assist in the transition to the foster home. All vetting is covered by the group and we give you a starter kit of food and litter. You provide the safe, loving environment!

Often, people want to help us by fostering kittens, which we always need. But some of our adults are not getting adopted because they are languishing in stores when they could use some time in a home getting love and attention. Please consider helping an older kitty find his or her furr-ever home!
