The Cyrus Dallin Art Museum is seeking a volunteer Associate Trustee responsible for updating and launching the museum’s marketing plan, making recommendations to the municipal, and non-profit boards and coordinating the publicity of museum initiatives and events through press releases and social media. The Marketing & Publicity Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Director/Curator and members of the Marketing Committee of the museum’s municipal Board of Trustees. We also welcome involvement in other areas of museum operations.
Responsibilities:
- Review existing Marketing Plan and recommend updates and priorities for implementation
- Draft and send press releases and calendar announcements to newspapers, online news outlets, and via social media such as Facebook and Twitter
- Maintain up to date information online at sites like Trip Advisor, Yelp, Google, etc.
- Deliver print publicity materials such as rack cards and member brochures to area visitors’ centers, museums, and historical sites
Qualifications:
- Degree or at least two years professional experience in marketing or public relations preferred
- Excellent writing skills
- Knowledge of basic computer software for word processing, websites, and social media
- Efficient time management skills and ability to set and meet deadlines
- Interest in art and museums a plus

About the Cyrus Dallin Art Museum
The Cyrus Dallin Art Museum is dedicated to the celebrated Utah-born sculptor, educator, and Indigenous rights advocate, Cyrus Dallin, who lived and worked in Arlington, Massachusetts for over forty years. Best known for his Appeal to the Great Spirit in front of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the Paul Revere Monument in Boston's North End, Dallin's many public sculptures bring beauty and a unique perspective to shared spaces across the nation. By exploring Dallin’s art, life, and values through thoughtful exhibits and programs, the Dallin Museum seeks to promote a more inclusive understanding of history and mutual respect and empathy in our community.
