Dogs for the Deaf, Inc.'s mission is to rescue and professionally train dogs to help people and enhance lives, maintaining a lifelong commitment to all dogs we rescue and all people we serve.

Dogs for the Deaf is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization located in Central Point, Oregon. We are looking for volunteers to be part of our Dogs for the Deaf Volunteer Interview Program (DFD VIP).

Since 1977, Dogs for the Deaf has been rescuing dogs from shelters where they might otherwise be euthanized, professionally training them to become Hearing Dogs and placing them with qualified clients with hearing loss throughout the United States. . By providing sound awareness and companionship, these dogs greatly increase freedom and independence and also improve employability. We continue to maintain a life-long commitment to all dogs we rescue and all people we serve.

We are attempting to grow our nationwide network of Volunteers that assist with the in-home interview portion of our application process. Please help us in our mission by expanding our team of volunteers around the country. It is vitally important for us to gather extensive, detailed information on the home environment and particular needs of each applicant so that we can match them with a Hearing Dog that best suits their specific situation and lifestyle.

If you are interested in becoming a DFD VIP, please contact our Client Services department for more information (800) 990-3647.
