Prescription Assistance Volunteer
Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine
Prescription Assistance Volunteers facilitate a program that helps our patients obtain medication for long term, chronic illnesses such as diabetes or high blood pressure. Volunteers process the requests from receiving the prescription from the physician, completing paperwork with the patient, contacting the pharmaceutical company via computer, mail or phone, receiving the medications and ensuring patients receive the medications.
About Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine
600 West Peachtree St., Lakeland, FL 33815, US
The Lakeland Volunteers in Medicine Clinic is a VOLUNTEER run medical clinic that provides primary medical care, dental, and counseling services to the working uninsured of Greater Lakeland. LVIM operations are funded through a capital campaign, grants and ongoing fundraising. We provide a compassionate and nurturing environment for patients, volunteers and staff that is based on our philosophy that (1) healing does not begin with a pill or a therapy, but when you greet someone at the door, invite them in, take an interest in their lives and give them the dignity and respect they often get no where else, and (2) the greatest healing does not go to the patients that come to receive care, but to the volunteers that go to the LVIM clinic to give care.
LVIM provides primary healthcare to the working uninsured of Lakeland through a staff of dedicated volunteers.
