Volunteers are needed to assist Park Rangers in teaching people about the history of Antelope Island State Park. Volunteers work with staff at the annual bison roundup and promote appreciation for the historic Fielding Garr Ranch. Ranch volunteers will be involved in a variety of activities including greeting visitors, assisting with general ranch operations, trail patrol & maintenance, leading guided site tours, operating the gift shop and helping with special events & projects.
Hours vary. Training will be provided.
Antelope Island welcomes volunteers of all ages. Volunteers who are age 55 or better are invited to partner with the Davis County Retired and Senior Volunteer Program for placement at the Island. Benefits of volunteering through RSVP include:
- Supplemental insurance while in service
- Mileage reimbursement for travel to and from volunteer site (up to 200 miles per month)
- Ongoing recognition programs throughout the year
Volunteers under age 55 may find additional Antelope Island volunteer information at:

Mission Statement
Davis County RSVP empowers and enables Americans 55+ in addressing community needs and concerns through volunteering.
Description
Americans 55+ have a lifetime of experience to share and the desire to make a real difference in their world. Members of this mature generation have managed households, been business owners and nurses, farmers and salespeople, artists and executives. Now they are ready to put their unique talents and expertise to work in their communities, and enrich their own lives in the process.
RSVP is the connection to aid volunteers in choosing how and where to serve, time of service, causes to support, and how to get started. RSVP provides pre-service orientation, training from the organization where service is given, supplemental insurance while on duty, and, in some cases, a mileage reimbursement to cover the cost of travel between home and the volunteer site.
When you volunteer, you're not just helping others - you're helping yourself. Volunteering leads to new discoveries and new friends. Plus, studies show that volunteering helps you live longer and promotes a positive outlook on life.
