Ronald McDonald House at TCH Volunteers age 18 and older work in the 20 bedroom House at Texas Children's and support families whose children are being treated in the Intensive Care areas of the hospital.
Ronald McDonald Family Room Volunteers at TCH age 18 and older support patients and families on the Oncology/Hematology Inpatient floor, at the Outpatient Cancer Clinic, and in the Pediatric and Cardiovascular Intensive Care Units.
Volunteers help keep the RMH facilities at Texas Children's tidy and stocked with supplies, check families in and out of the bedrooms, visit with parents, assist with other projects, and bake cookies. By providing a caring presence, volunteers cultivate a culture of support and connection amongst families with children in the units.
Family Room and House at TCH Volunteers make a 6 month commitment. Volunteer opportunities are available from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. seven days a week. Shifts are scheduled in 3 hour time blocks.
- 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
- 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
- 3:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
RMH at TCH Volunteers work two shifts a month for a total of 6 hours a month.
