About

PLACEMENT PURPOSE
To answer calls arriving into the Red Cross county disaster hotline and to initiate a timely response to disaster incidents in the county according to Red Cross standard operating procedures.

OPEN TIME DAYS
Dispatchers are are call every four (4) weeks for a one week shift.

REQUIRED TRAINING
  • Orientation to American Red Cross
  • Disaster Services: An Overview
  • Shelter Operations
  • Shelter Simulation
  • Disaster Assessment Basics
  • Hotline Dispatcher Training (scheduled individually with County Paid Staff Member)
  • DAT Orientation strongly recommended
