Riverhead Community Awareness Program (CAP) needs Adult Volunteers to help teach our signature drug and alcohol prevention program to 5th & 6th Graders at Pulaski Street Elementary School. This volunteer opportunity is fun and rewarding for adults and has a proven impact on the children we serve. Volunteers are provided free training to prepare for presentations that occur on Thursdays and Fridays throughout the school year. The program ends with our Annual Say NO to Drugs March in early June.
The Riverhead Community Coalition for Safe and Drug Free Youth is also seeking volunteers to contribute their time and talents to create environmental strategies that prevent and reduce drug and alcohol use amongst youth in the Town of Riverhead. Meetings are held on a monthy basis and committees work to develop and implement inititatives that make the Town of Riverhead safer and healthier for all residents.
