During these uncertain times, how can we help?

Imagine it. A spark of knowledge that lights the fire within. You can be that spark! The teenagers accepted into our program are highly motivated and capable individuals that are looking to end the cycle of poverty in their family through a college education. We provide them with all the tools they need to be in a position to succeed, and various volunteers help to fill the intangible components of reaching this goal (tutors, mentors, job-shadowing opportunities).
We are looking for an individual to serve as a tutor for medical field pathways program called Aurora Lights. Students taking these classes study biology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medical technology.
The tutor’s role is to help break down assignments, provide guidance for an outline, or simply ask probing questions about the student's notes. Tutors need not be in the medical field, but a basic knowledge of biology will be helpful.
Sessions will be taking place at Regis Jesuit High School from 3:30-6:30pm, Monday- Thursday. We are looking for individuals that would be able to commit to helping for the duration of next semester on a weekly or biweekly basis.

Our mission is to nurture and guide motivated young people in need to become well-educated, career-ready men and women for others.
At BHGHCO, education is seen as the key to self-sufficiency and college is the avenue towards a career for a stable future. For over 25 years, BHGHCO has been providing a pathway to a successful future for young people who have the ambition and determination to achieve a college education and a life of service but do not have the supports to reach this goal. We believe that motivated children can overcome significant barriers and develop their inherent talents when engaged in strong relationships and opportunities for academic and character development. By opening a doorway of opportunity for these young scholars through year-round college-preparatory supports, they are able to thrive in an environment that empowers them and allows them to develop their life skills and strengths.
We'll work with your schedule.
