Our Young Professionals Board is a group of young professionals who are passionate about providing children in-need with an excellent education and helping them achieve their dreams. The Young Professionals Board assists in all planning aspects of the annual Shaken, Not Stirred Martini Party held in February each year. In addition to the Shaken, Not Stirred Martini Party, the Young Professionals Board will take part in career panels, service days with our scholars, assist with the Graduation Celebration held each May, and has the opportunity to work with the scholars in being mentors and/or tutors.

We are on the lookout for academic tutors for the 2023/2024 school year. The time to apply is now! We have a high need for academic tutors to work our amazing scholars in our college access program. The highschoolers in our program are highly motivated and capable individuals that are looking to end the cycle of poverty in their family through a college education. We provide them with all the tools they need to be in a position to succeed, and various volunteers help to fill the intangible components of reaching this goal (tutors, mentors, job-shadowing opportunities). We are looking for individuals to tutor in science, math and foreign languages. The tutor’s role is to help break down assignments, provide guidance for an outline, or simply ask probing questions about the student's notes. Sessions will take place at Aurora Central High School, Regis Jesuit High School, or online from 3:30-6:30pm, Monday- Thursday. We are looking for individuals that would be able to commit to helping for the duration of this semester on a weekly or biweekly basis. Thank you!

Virtual Opportunity
Collegian Birthday Cardmaking and Gift Cards At Boys Hope Girls Hope we love celebrating our amazing scholars and collegians and letting them know they are valued. We want to make sure that every collegian feels celebrated on the birthday. We are looking for volunteers to make or purchase birthday cards and gift cards for our Collegians to send them at college on their birthday. This is easy and fun volunteer opportunity. Whether you’re looking for something to do on a snowy day at home with your family or planning an activity for your school, community or corporate group, this opportunity is a great way to help brighten someone’s birthday! It's up to you to decide your commitment level. You can volunteer for a whole month and send cards to a handful of collegians, or just one. If you are looking for a corporate or group volunteer opportunity, consider coming together to cover a whole year! Next Steps: Sign up for this opportunity and decide how many cards and gift cards you would like to donate. We will then send you the first names and a little about each collegian. Make or purchase a birthday card for each name you requested and buy $5-10 gift cards to include in each card. Amazon, Target, and Starbucks are always popular. Send or bring cards unsealed cards to our office. We will mail the card out close to their birthday!

Mission Statement
Our mission is to nurture and guide motivated young people in need to become well-educated, career-ready men and women for others.
Description
At BHGHCO, education is seen as the key to self-sufficiency and college is the avenue towards a career for a stable future. For over 25 years, BHGHCO has been providing a pathway to a successful future for young people who have the ambition and determination to achieve a college education and a life of service but do not have the supports to reach this goal. We believe that motivated children can overcome significant barriers and develop their inherent talents when engaged in strong relationships and opportunities for academic and character development. By opening a doorway of opportunity for these young scholars through year-round college-preparatory supports, they are able to thrive in an environment that empowers them and allows them to develop their life skills and strengths.
