It’s that time of year again - the staff here at Families in Transition-New Horizons and OutFITters Thrift Store is beginning to prepare for this year’s Market DaysFestival in Concord. The dates set for this year are Thursday June 21, Friday June 22, and Saturday June 23.
If you’ve never had the chance to attend before, Market Days is a family-friendly three-day festival in downtown Concord that offers food and retail vendors, local music, community performances and much more! Our OutFITters Thrift Store takes our inventory outdoors each year to participate in the event - last year, sales from the event brought in over $10,000 to support Families in Transitions’ mission to end homelessness in New Hampshire.
We are seeking volunteers to help under our OutFITters tent and in the store during the event, as well as helping throughout June to prepare for the event. Here are just a few ways you can help:
- Assist customers at a cash register
- Sort, organize and prepare clothing
- Stock and organize racks
- Escort customers using the fitting rooms
- Pass out coupons to help promote our tent
- Set-up and clean-up
Volunteering at Market Days is a great experience for everyone -- bring your family or friends!

Mission Statement
At Families in Transition our mission is To Prevent and Break the Cycle of Homelessness. There are countless ways to get involved with Families in Transition. At the heart of everything we do are individuals and organizations that choose to donate their time, money and services to help us make a difference in the lives of so many.
Description
Volunteering within the agency is a great opportunity to really see our mission at work and to connect with our staff and participants. Some of these volunteer opportunities include shifts at the food pantry, serving a meal at the shelter, sorting donations at Outfitters, helping with building maintenance, and supporting our staff with various administrative projects. We have opportunities for both individuals and groups as well as on-going and one-time projects.
