CAAWS is run solely by unpaid volunteers and is governed by a Board of Directors. Our Humane Education Volunteers go to elementary school classes or libraries with CAAWS dogs to teach responsible pet ownership, spay and neuter, and child safety. While o ur presentation last s approximately 30 minutes, we may may talk to several classes on that day, in which case it might require up to 3 hours of your time . All teaching materials will be provided for you, and no training is necessary. You can give the presentation, assist the presentor or help with handling the CAAWS dog. This opportunity is usually done on weekday mornings so open availablility is a must.
