Want to turn your community into a green oasis? Want to earn money for school or to pay back student loans? Here is the perfect opportunity for you to do both.
Silicon Valley environmental non-profit, Our City Forest, is recruiting now for AmeriCorps Service Members to be Urban Forestry Specialists for 11 months. Positions begin early September.
Our City Forest AmeriCorps members help grow their community by engaging volunteers in:
* cultivating plants and young trees at the Community Nursery,
* planting and caring for trees in neighborhoods, schools, and parks,
* fighting the impacts of drought and climate change.
Service members train residents on best planting practices so they can be successful environmental stewards of a greener metropolis.
