Norfolk County RSVP Rides for Veterans
Drive local Veterans to and from medical appointments and other necessary trips, using your own vehicle with supplemental liability insurance from RSVP, and $0.40/mile reimbursement.
Riders must be ambulatory or bring a caregiver to assist them in getting in and out. Trips may be local or to a VA Hospital including Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury, or Brockton. Drivers are called as needed and can opt in or out for any given trip request.
For everybody's safety during the current pandemic, all drivers and riders must wear masks, use hand sanitizer before entering the vehicle and follow other common-sense safety precautions. When picking up or dropping off vet riders, driver are asked not to enter their homes or accompany riders into hospitals or medical office buildings.
Requires MA driver’s license, reliable car and background check. We are looking for drivers for vet rides originating in Foxboro, Wrentham, Norfolk, Walpole, Sharon and surrounding areas within Norfolk County, MA.
Norfolk County RSVP is a community service program for volunteers who are 55 and over. We work with over fifty municpal, non-profit and healthcare organizations to recruit and match volunteers withprograms that meet community needs.
DAV Transportation to VA Hospitals
Drive veterans to and from a specific VA hospital using specially-marked DAV sport utility vehicles. Serve one day per week or every other week. DAV drivers must complete Veterans Administration application, physical, and background check.

Volunteer opportunities include mentoring pre-release inmates, tutoring elementary school children, drivers for Veterans, meals on wheels and food pantires, friendly visiting, non-profit support services and many more! N.C. RSVP will find the volunteer opportunity that best fits your interests & schedule and impacts the needs that are most critical to our county's communities. N.C. RSVP provides mileage reimbursement, accident & liability insurance, an invitation to our annual recognition event, monthly newsletters, orientation & training.
