Norfolk County RSVP Rides for Veterans Volunteer Program
Drive local Veterans to and from medical appointments and other necessary trips, using your own vehicle with supplemental liability insurance from RSVP and $0.40/mile reimbursement. This special service allows Vets who either no longer drive or can not afford expensive alternative transportation such as Uber to be able to get to their medical appointments. Drivers are asked to provide two rides per month.
Riders must be ambulatory or bring a caregiver to assist them in getting in and out. Trips may be local or to a VA Hospital including Jamaica Plain, West Roxbury, or Brockton. Drivers are called as needed and can opt in or out for any given trip request.
Requires MA driver’s license, reliable car and background check. We are looking for drivers for vet rides originating in Foxboro, Wrentham, Norfolk, Walpole, Sharon and surrounding areas within Norfolk County, MA.
Norfolk County RSVP is a community service program for volunteers who are 55 and over. We work with over thirty municipal, non-profit and healthcare organizations to recruit and match volunteers with programs that meet community needs.
