Mission Statement

The mission of the Edible Healing Garden is to address nutrition insecurity in youths by creating an onsite nature experience to increase healthy food accessibility, provide nutrition and gardening education, and promote cultural diversity and inclusivity. Through this garden, participants have the opportunity to learn from our registered dietitians about a diversity of fruits and vegetables that are also culturally relevant, receive produce packages, and develop cooking and growing skills to strengthen their health and quality of life.

Description

VIP is a non-profit organization that for 30 years has dedicated itself to treating and aiding the survivors of power-based violence. Importantly, as a Community Mental Health Center, we emphasize work that expands the definition of healing outside of the realm of traditional medical or mental health care. While both are, indeed, crucial to the success of an individual and their family, we believe that this aid must take into consideration a personalized, holistic, and collaborative approach to ensure that clients have the tools and resources to succeed beyond our care.
