VOLUNTEER WITH A BIG IMPACT!
Provide support for people and pets in your community by volunteering at this upcoming vaccination clinic! Here we will provide basic veterinary care for dogs and cats including vaccinations, nail trims, pet food and supplies. Make a difference in your community by helping people care for their pets.
We are especially in need of volunteers in the following positions:
- Veterinarians
- Veterinary Assistants/Nurses/Technicians
- Pre-Vet Students
About our volunteers
Volunteers are essential to the ARL’s Community Outreach efforts to assist under served people and pets in Des Moines. Greater volunteer involvement leads to stronger relationships within the community, which in turn makes ARL's Community Outreach program more effective.

Description
The Animal Rescue League of Iowa is a dynamic, progressive-minded animal shelter dedicated to animals and people. In addition to our daily operations of caring for over 15,000 animals that come into our shelter every year, we also offer programs including pet adoption, pet behavior counseling, puppy & dog training classes, spay/neuter, animal cruelty intervention and our extensive volunteer program.
