ORGANIZATION: WorkingAbroad Projects

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.
  • 116 people are interested

Become a conservation volunteer across almost 20 different locations in Australia and New Zealand.

We are looking for volunteers to help protect, preserve and restore New Zealand environments. You can join for 2 to 12 weeks in duration, and we have places throughout the year available. We have 4 locations in New Zealand.

Working in teams of up to 10, volunteers are involved with a range of conservation activities. These can involve:

* Walking trail construction
* Wildlife surveys
* Seed collection
* Weed control
* Conservation fencing
* Heritage restoration

This is a great opportunity for those who love the outdoors and have an interest in the environment to take part on practical conservation projects. As a volunteer you will get to see many places tourists don't normally see. You will also learn about conservation issues across New Zealand, as well as gaining practical skills, a team based experience and references.
