Innovative Center needs Fine Art Class Assistants

This volunteer will help students follow along with the lesson, provide physical assistance (if needed) to students, help the instructor set up and clean up and may in time teach a class! Volunteers are needed Thursdays & Fridays.

Volunteer Educators Needed for Senior Citizen Education Classes in fine art and Jewelry Making. This class is taught by trained and working artist Linda Berkowitz. Older Adult students produce work using professional techniques and we have yearly shows.

Volunteers should be friendly and outgoing. They will be helping the seniors and the teacher and not doing art themselves.

This is not a live in facility but an urban innovative day senior center serving independent adults who wish to continue learning and enjoying life as they grow older.

We are also seeking volunteer educators in Music, Writing, Crafts Technology and Language! Build your resume and feed your soul!

HANAC Senior Center located at 27-40 Hoyt Avenue South in Astoria one block from the Astoria Blvd subway stop on the N & Q Trains and accesable by many bus lines.

HANAC, Inc. - originally founded by George Douris as the Hellenic American Neighborhood Action Committee - is a New York City-based multi-faceted social services organization with administrative offices at 27-40 Hoyt Avenue S in Astoria and fiscal office at 1250 Broadway in New York City. The organization was founded in 1972 to serve the needs of vulnerable populations throughout New York City.
