Position Overview

The Young Mothers INC Blogger is responsible for maintaining the Young Mothers INC Just Listen Blog. Blogs are to be posted on a weekly basis to the Just Listen Campaign Wix.com website.

Responsibilities

  • Write blog articles on a weekly basis, at least 3-5 blog per day M-F
  • Blog articles should support the Young Mothers INC Mission:
    • Young Mothers INC is a referral based organization that educates, mentors, nurtures and supports young women by creating opportunities and guiding them to explore new options and grow into confident role models.
  • Weekly blog articles should cover any of the following topics:
    • K-12 education for our participants with young children
    • Parenting tips, advice or recent studies
    • Entry level career advice and tips
    • College education advice and tips
    • Personal budget advice or tips
    • Articles that inspire women

Requirements

  • Current communications student, previous college experience or two years of online communications experience
  • Editorial experience a plus, with an ability to maintain the "voice" of an organization
  • Excellent writing/editing and verbal communications skills a must
  • Passion for writing advice or interest articles intended for a diverse group of women with goals to improve their path in life
  • Familiarity with editing and manipulating website content, preferably WIX.com
  • High energy individual who is quick to learn
  • Highly collaborative team member
  • Self-starter who is able to work independently and entrepreneurially; enjoys creating and implementing new initiatives
