VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTION

Title: Central Florida Communications Manager

Overview: Email information to various HI members by category as requested.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain contact with management

  • Maintain email list of HI members by category

  • Send Email to various members as requested by management

  • Send Email reminder of the monthly group meeting

    Initial Impact:

  • Help HI-USA and HI-Florida increase awareness among HI members

    Sustainable Outcome:

  • Awareness of low-cost travel opportunities through HI

  • Increased membership in HI

  • Increased use of hostelling in Florida and worldwide

    Training and Support:

  • HI-USA Volunteer Manual

  • Hi-Florida board members

  • HI-Florida members (for volunteering)

    Qualifications:

  • Interest in travel

  • Ability to manage volunteer workforce

  • Communication and organization skills

  • Outgoing

    Time Commitment:

  • Two hours initial training - review of Florida training materials, coordination with Board liaison

  • Contact with members estimated at 1 hour per month.

  • Attendance at Conversation Caf 1 hour per month.

  • Coordination with Florida Board estimated at 30 minutes per month

    Benefits:

  • Leadership development and marketing skills practiced.

  • Gain experience in grassroots organizing and nonprofit use of volunteers

  • Rsum-building experience with letter of reference upon completion.

  • Learn about travel opportunities and hostelling
