VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTION Title: Central Florida Communications Manager Overview: Email information to various HI members by category as requested. Key Responsibilities: Maintain contact with management Maintain email list of HI members by category Send Email to various members as requested by management Send Email reminder of the monthly group meeting Initial Impact: Help HI-USA and HI-Florida increase awareness among HI members Sustainable Outcome: Awareness of low-cost travel opportunities through HI Increased membership in HI Increased use of hostelling in Florida and worldwide Training and Support: HI-USA Volunteer Manual Hi-Florida board members HI-Florida members (for volunteering) Qualifications: Interest in travel Ability to manage volunteer workforce Communication and organization skills Outgoing Time Commitment: Two hours initial training - review of Florida training materials, coordination with Board liaison Contact with members estimated at 1 hour per month. Attendance at Conversation Caf 1 hour per month. Coordination with Florida Board estimated at 30 minutes per month Benefits: Leadership development and marketing skills practiced. Gain experience in grassroots organizing and nonprofit use of volunteers Rsum-building experience with letter of reference upon completion. web HTML Experience: HI Florida Friends of Hostelling is seeking a website Designer to make changes to existing site at www.hiflorida.org. The changes may require HTML coding and/or WordPress knowledge. We are also looking for volunteers with experience in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. We are not at the initial stage on the website, but fine tuning and improving it. Hostelling Interrnational (HI) has a volunteer rewards program including comp memberships and comp hostel nights. Florida Friends of Hostelling (FFH) needs a Marketing Coordinator to help promote and publicize our events with the local community. We are also looking for volunteers with experience in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. This volunteer position will include posting our events in the Orlando Sentinel and other local newspapers, as well as posting on online community boards. The goal of the position is to spread the word about events and hoping increase community participation. Florida Friends of Hostelling Committee Member VOLUNTEER POSITION DESCRIPTION Title: Florida Friends of Hostelling Committee Member Overview: We are in need of HI Florida Friends of Hostelling Committee Members to represent our members in Volusia, Seminole, Orange, and Osceola Counties. Key Responsibilities: Attending 10 Travel Discussion meetings per year Being an HI "Ambassador" in your community Finding at least one venue (audience of 20 people) for an HI presentation or film We are also looking for volunteers with experience in Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat. Initial Impact: Help HI increase awareness among the people of Florida in hostelling. Will increase general public’s knowledge of travel and culture opportunities through hostelling Sustainable Outcome: Increase of HI activities in Florida. Awareness by the general public of low-cost travel opportunities through HI Increased membership in HI Increased use of hostelling worldwide Qualifications: Interest in travel Ability to establish and maintain channels of communication between HI Florida and other entities identified.
