NO ONE should be alone at the end of life.

Hospice is a special form of care for patients who have been diagnosed with a terminal illness. As an integral part of the medical team, hospice volunteers work directly with nurses, doctors, social workers, physical therapists, and chaplains to provide companionship for our patients. Kaiser Hospice patients live in care facilities, or in their own homes in the Redwood City, Palo Alto, or San Mateo area.

We'll connect you with a patient close to where you live so that you can visit at a time that works for your schedule. You can hold a patient's hand, be a listener, sit quietly, play music, and share life stories. By spending time with the patient, you'll also give the caregiver a break for an hour or two.

Comprehensive online training is provided to ensure that you become fluent in the policies, ethics, and benefits of Hospice Care. Opportunities are available days, evenings, or weekends.

Come join a team that truly makes a difference in lives of community members!
