The 2018 hurricane season has been extraordinarily active in parts of the U.S., with Hurricane Florence currently impacting millions in the Carolinas. As this natural disaster unfolds, the staff here at VolunteerMatch is doing its part to ensure that, if you are in an affected community, you are prepared and safe. And if you are looking to help with disaster relief efforts, you know about the most effective ways to contribute.
This is a Virtual Opportunity, with no fixed address.
Grant writers, retired and looking to continue doing good work, or pros who have room for pro-bono work, Parkwood Farms Therapy Center is looking for your guidance. We have a committee of volunteers willing to help with the research, writing, and follow up... but we need leadership.
Individuals interested in breaking into the field of grant writing but need experience to improve your skills through volunteering your grant writing services. As a small non-profit doing all it can to survive in an economic downturn we gladly welcome and encourage volunteers with or without experience as we seek funds to continue and to expand our therapeutic riding and social skills programs for children and adults with disabilities.
This volunteer opportunity can be done from home with only a few face to face meetings with the executive director or the grant committee.
For 12 years, Parkwood Farms Therapy Center has offered therapeutic riding, social skills training, and summer camps for children and adults with disabilities. The center is also the training facility for the Gwinnett County Special Olympics Equestrian team.
