Parkwood Farms Therapy Center is a non-profit organization that provides equine assisted therapy and therapeutic riding services for children and adults with various disabilities. We are seeking motivated individuals who have a passion for service and want to volunteer their time to help with care of horses, including grooming and preparation for equine therapy sessions. Flexible hours that fit your schedule will be agreed upon. Times prior to sessions Tu/Th/ Sunday are our biggest need,but, other pre-arranged times during our off days can be scheduled. Bring any of your expertise to help with the everyday operations of the facility including light landscaping, maintenance, needed repairs...many chores that would help keep our facility looking good for our families and riders. Volunteer Work Days, for larger projects perfect for civic and church groups, can be scheduled to fir your organizations claendar.

Equine Assisted Activities / Therapeutic Riding Center NEEDS Volunteers!

Our volunteers experience the satisfaction of knowing that they have made a difference in a child's life. We act as side walkers and horse leaders for students/riders with various disabilities while they receive much needed equine related therapies. We also help out with the grooming and exercising of the horses, keeping the tack neat and Clean, as well as, fulfilling the general cleaning duties of the barn, arenas and grounds. No experience is necessary. We train you as needed during a mandatory orientation where you will learn hands-on while working with riders in an actual session. The only requirements are that you like to help others, are dependable and responsible, and have a positive attitude. It is truly gratifying to see the progress the children are making in their therapies. And, if not for our volunteers, these kids would be denied the opportunity to experience the benefits that can improve their Quality of Life. A desire to give back and help someone else is what drives our volunteers. What a great group we have! As little as 1 hour of your time can change a riders life...and maybe your own! Sessions are Tuesday and Thursday from 2:30 to 6:30 PM, Sunday 7:30 - noon.

Successful Grant Writers NEEDED!! HELP KIDS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS - Keep Our Programs Going

Attention Grant Writers! If you are retired and looking to continue doing good works, or a professional who has room for pro-bono work, Parkwood Farms Therapy Center is looking for your help and guidance. We are eager to speak with individuals interested in breaking into the field of grant writing, and need experience to improve their skills through volunteering their grant writing services. We have a committee of volunteers willing to help with the research, writing, and follow up of grant applications... but we need leadership. For almost 20 years, Parkwood Farms Therapy Center has offered equine assisted activities, therapeutic riding, social skills training, and summer camps for children and adults with disabilities. As a small non-profit doing all it can to survive during an economic downturn, we gladly welcome and encourage volunteers with or without experience in grant writing. We seek help obtaining funds to continue and expand our therapeutic riding and social skills programs for children and adults with disabilities. This volunteer opportunity can be done from home with only a few face to face or Zoom meetings with the executive director or the grant writing committee. If you are interested, please contact us. Audit Services Needed

Parkwood Farms Therapy Center is a 501-3c non-profit organization that provides Equine Assisted Activities & therapeutic Riding for children with Special Needs. We are in search of a person having experience working with Non-Profit organizations and their accounting needs... more specifically 2 year audit of financials. You must be familiar with IRS laws and regulation regarding Non-Profits. We currently have an accountant providing services that include reconciling books on a monthly or quarterly basis, preparation of annual 990s. Our books are up-to-date with the IRS with filing 990's and monthly reconciliation for more than 3 years required to complete task. We are now in need of a person to donate their time and expertise to conduct audits on 2 years of financials in order to open up our options and become more competitive in Grant writing and funding. If you would like to be part of an organization that makes a positive difference in the lives of those less fortunate, and have the requisite experience, please consider joining our volunteer team.

I had an amazing experience helping children with special needs by assisting them riding horses. Everyone in the therapy center was nice and informative. Highly recommend them. Look forward to see them again next week.
