We invite volunteers to assist park staff in planting 24" box trees at Dos Picos Park in Ramona. This is a great opportunity for adult volunteers, as the trees weigh several hundred pounds. We'll need many hands to assist our staff and equipment. Volunteers will be encouraged to bring their own gloves, water, snacks. Wear sturdy shoes, hats, sunscreen.
We're planning multiple dates to complete this project: 12/3, 12/10, 12/17, 2016; 1/7, 1/14, 1/20, 2017; 2/4, 2/11, 2/18, 2017. 8:30am-12:00pm
In recent years the Golden Spotted Oak Borer Beetle has killed many large oak trees in our backcountry, including many at Dos Picos Park. We'll be planting trees to reestablish the wonderful canopy our park users have come to enjoy. We need help with getting these bigs trees into the ground!
