Volunteer tutors will work with students (grades K-5) on a one-on-one basis to answer questions on academic subjects, and to aid in the comprehension of subject material.
Volunteer tutors need good communication skills and the ability to work with students from varied backgrounds and with varieties of skill levels. ALL volunteer tutors must complete a background check. .
Be patient, positive, consistent, and friendly with student.
Be enthusiastic about what they are doing and help the student discover his/her own enthusiasm for the subject.
Encourage and demonstrate understanding with students.

Operation Homework: "Equipping Socially, Emotionally and Academically"
Operation Homework seeks to transform the lives of area students by providing them with the support needed to develop strong academic and social skills. We work to empower students to become responsible citizens prepared to succeed in higher education, careers, and in service to the community.
Operation Saturday Academy: "REAL, RELEVANT, ENGAGING"
Operation Saturday Academy offers enriching experiences, which connect real world activities to the subject matter that students are learning in school. Our goal is to compliment academic work and to foster a 'love for learning,’ providing youth with the skills and confidence needed to become productive, forward-thinking creators of their own destiny. We envision these youth maturing to become contributors to the social and economic vitality of their communities.
Operation 3 Steps Ahead Summer Learning: "MAXIMIZING EXCELLENCE"
Our purpose is to engage students in enrichment activities that advance their skills and understanding in the areas of reading and writing, math and science. We also strive to provide students with opportunities to develop character, learn valuable life skills, make new friends, and discover new interests.
