Speak Chinese? Are you a master at board or card games, and do you enjoy getting to play these games with others? Do you love giving back to your community and spending time with Seniors? Then we want YOU to come lead a games hour with the wonderful senior residents at Stuart Pratt Manor in Berkeley!!
No experience necessary, just a love for playing games and a desire to interact with Seniors. Please have a friendly and engaging attitude, and be willing to help teach Seniors new games or activities! Minimum 1x month commitment but weekly preferred! By offering consistent, volunteer-led programing, we hope to build community at each of our properties, providing accessible socialization alternatives and allowing our senior residents to age in place. ABOUT THE VOLUNTEER PROGRAM: SAHA's Volunteer Program is managed by the Volunteer Coordinator, who will contact you upon being notified by VolunteerMatch and follow up with an online application and interview. Please note that we are only able to accommodate those with M-F 9AM-5PM availability. In the interest of offering consistent social activities for our residents, we expect that volunteers will offer activities weekly or twice a month at a regular time and day. Residents greatly appreciate and look forward these activities as well as enjoying the company of volunteers who make them possible. Please sign up today!

Description
The purpose of the SAHA's Volunteer Program is to improve the quality of living and promote health and well-being for Satellite Housing's residents. Volunteers will help foster community by facilitating activities for the residents, such as exercise groups, art classes, discussion groups, providing health and wellness information, leading or participating in games, assisting with special events, etc. The residents really appreciate the effort that is put forth by the volunteers, and look forward to the weekly interactions.
