About

Special Events Coordinator

The Special Events Coordinator will plan and ensure the execution of special events/fundraising events that are important for increasing awareness about our organization, our animals, and the important work we are doing for the animals of Milwaukee and that are integral to raising the funds necessary to support that work.

Use your imagination to create fun events our supporters will want to attend and that will attract new people to come learn about our organization and to engage them to be supporters themselves! Special events in the past have included happy hours, car washes, rummage sales, bake sales, etc. Special Events Coordinators will work together with the Milwaukee Pets Alive Special Events Lead to plan and execute at least 12 special events/fundraising events each year (1 per month). Special Events Coordinators and Lead will also head the committee for the planning of an annual organizational major event.

The Special Events Coordinator will work with the MPA Marketing Coordinators to assist with promoting upcoming MPA events.

The Special Event Coordinator will also attend MPA events they plan and execute (as well as those planned by other MPA Special Event Coordinators) and engage with attendees and answer questions about the organization.

The Special Event Coordinator must attend the monthly MPA All-Volunteer meeting to communicate with other volunteers to share both what they are working on as well as hear what others in the organization are working on and how that impacts Special Events. The Special Events Coordinator must also attend any additional meetings deemed necessary for proper planning by the Special Events Lead and other Special Events Coordinators. Special Events coordination tasks are done outside of planning/all-volunteer meetings on your own or in collaboration with other volunteers.

Looking for motivated, self-starters with initiative and drive to work hard in this role for the special animals of our Milwaukee community who are counting on us to save their lives!

Think big! Be creative! Throw great parties where supporters can have fun while doing good!
