Volunteer Drivers play a hugely important role in the work of Communicare in Southampton. Whether you can offer 1hr a week or 20hrs, we want to hear from you! We are seeking committed, reliable individuals who own their own vehicles, to pick up clients and take them to their required destination. Often these are elderly people who would otherwise be unable to go out. It's as simple as that, although many clients also like to chat with our volunteers en-route, so this is an important part of the role. Every volunteer driver makes an immense difference to the lives of those they support and we urgently need more volunteers to enable us to continue to provide this important service. We reimburse our volunteers for parking costs and mileage so that it costs nothing but their time to offer transport to our clients. We also offer regular (optional) training, get-togethers, office-based support, and the chance to make a difference by helping those in need in our community.

What are we looking for?

- Use of own vehicle - Full driving licence - Willing to provide references - Friendly and caring attitude - Spare time to give on a regular basis (but you don't need to commit to the same time each fortnight). This role will require a DBS check which we will organise and pay for.
