Volunteering with SDCYB is an essential link between our community and programming. As our organization continues to grow and thrive, volunteer and financial support increase the opportunity for our programs to further our mission to enrich the cultural life of the community. If you are an SDCYB parent, a friend, or just a dance enthusiast we would like to invite you to join SDCYB.
Volunteering is open to everyone, and provides opportunities for a variety of time commitment levels and is not contingent on any financial investment, but rather on your enthusiasm, time and creative talents. We believe that shared cultural experiences contribute to sense of community and connection to one another, and we want to be part of this with you.
As a member of SDCYB, you will have various opportunities to support the growth and sustainability of the San Diego Civic Youth Ballet.

Mission Statement
San Diego Civic Youth Ballet believes everyone should have the opportunity to dance. Our mission is to provide the youth of San Diego the opportunity to study, understand and appreciate, through education and participation, the art of ballet, and to enrich the cultural life of the community. SDCYB strives to cultivate a learning environment based on integrity and trust and one that values diversity amongst its students, faculty, staff and patrons. SDCYB promotes excellence in all endeavors and a spirit of service to the San Diego community through sustainable practices that prioritize a child’s desire to dance over their ability to pay.
Description
San Diego Civic Youth Ballet was founded in 1945. For 77 years, SDCYB has offered high-quality, affordable, year-round ballet training in the Casa del Prado studios and produces four major productions at the Casa del Prado Theater each year. SDCYB also has a vibrant Community Outreach Program to bring the art of ballet to San Diego youth. "Ballet for the Classroom" provides dance education to children in public schools and "Ballet for Me!" provides a classical ballet class for children with unique physical needs.
