The Florida State Fair is much more than Bright Lights, Midway Rides and Food for Every Taste! This 12 day event includes a grand exhibition of agricultural, industrial, mechanical, horticultural, arts and crafts, music and entertainment, dairy and livestock, equestrian, forestry and natural resources from across the entire State. Each year, hundreds of volunteers contribute thousands of hours towards the success of the Fair. Volunteers ensure the smooth operation of a wide variety of Fair activities.

Benefits of volunteering for the Florida State Fair include free admission to the Fairgrounds, and additional admission tickets for friends and family for those volunteers completing multiple shifts. Florida State Fair pins are awarded for service and Volunteers may also receive invitations to the pre-fair luncheon and post-fair dinner to thank them for their hard work.

All returning volunteers and those attending a new volunteer Orientation Session will receive an exclusive Florida State Fair Volunteer T-Shirt to be worn during volunteer shifts.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years. All volunteers are required to undergo an annual Background Check to ensure the safety and security of fairgoers and staff.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Florida State Fairgrounds is to create positive entertainment experiences through; 1. The annual Florida State Fair 2. A variety of year-round events 3. Quality competitive programs 4. A commitment to agriculture, education and community service 5. A focus on new opportunities


The Florida State Fair Authority is owns over 330 acres in Hillsborough County, where it houses the Cracker Country Museum, a living history museum; the Florida Agribusiness Center, dedicated to promoting and educating children about the importance of agriculture and livestock; the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center; the Cattleman's Museum; and various venues for community events. The Authority does not receive any government funding and funds community programs through revenue from the annual Florida State Fair. The State Fair, in keeping with its mission, includes a variety of agricultural, educational and cultural experiences, in addition to the traditional midway. The 114th Florida State Fair will be held from February 8 to 19, 2018.
