The Florida State Fair would not be possible without the hard work of its volunteers. The fair is much more than bright lights, midway rides, and fun food. It is a 12-day, statewide tradition that draws a crowd of approximately 500,000 people each year. The fair depends on the can-do, eager attitude of our volunteers to make amazing experiences year after year. We are currently seeking energetic and enthusiastic volunteers who are sixteen or older. The upcoming Florida State Fair scheduled for February 9th through 20th, 2023 is looking for students, who are at least 16 years old, and are interested in earning volunteer hours toward high school graduation. Volunteers are needed beginning this November (2022) to help create exhibits that will be displayed throughout the fairgrounds. No previous experience is necessary. Youth Volunteer applications are due by Friday, October 28, 2022. Please contact the Florida State Fair Volunteer Coordinator at dianne.stahl@floridastatefair.com.

Bright lights, midway rides and food for every taste is only a small part of what goes on at the Florida State Fairgrounds. The fairgrounds utilize volunteers in many different areas including before, during and after the Florida State Fair. Our next State Fair is scheduled for February 8 - 19, 2024. Although the majority of our volunteers spend most of their time volunteering during the Fair, we do have other volunteer opportunities year-round. And, since our volunteers tend to be outgoing and very friendly, we additionally organize the occasional social outing so we can stay in touch. Each year, hundreds of volunteers contribute thousands of hours towards the success of the Fair. Volunteers ensure the smooth operation of a wide variety of Fairground activities. Benefits of volunteering for the Florida State Fairgrounds include free admission to the Florida State Fair and additional admission tickets for friends and family for those volunteers completing multiple shifts. Florida State Fair pins are awarded for service and Volunteers will also receive an invitation to the annual Volunteer Thank You dinner. All returning volunteers and those attending a new volunteer Orientation Session will receive an exclusive Florida State Fair Volunteer T-Shirt to be worn during volunteer shifts. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old. All volunteers are required to undergo an annual Background Check to ensure the safety and security of fairgoers and staff.
