Mission Statement
America SCORES empowers its "poet-athletes" to lead healthy lifestyles, be engaged and collaborative students, and have the confidence and character to make a difference in the world. We wholeheartedly believe all youth should experience joy, a sense of belonging, and be well prepared to navigate the future. We value results, outcomes, and tangible impact for our students and our communities.
Description
America SCORES Bay Area - Changing the Game - Innovative, Whole-Child Youth Development Program
Soccer: The world's most fluid, beautiful game is at the heart of SCORES. Teamwork is at the core.
Poetry: Unleash the voice! Creative expression, wordplay, and public speaking allow students to discover their distinct voices while building critical literacy skills and self-confidence.
Service Learning: SCORES students learn to contribute positively to their communities through a semester-long service-learning curriculum.
History: Founded in 2001, America SCORES Bay Area proudly serves over 3,000 youth at 100 low-income public schools in the San Francisco Bay Area. And we have plans to continue to grow by 20% per year. Our driving passion is to provide more support and opportunities to children who can benefit the most.
SCORES relies on a community of caring adults, partner organizations, and philanthropy to deliver ongoing, accessible programs.
